The "AB-1.2" is a DIY friendly DAC built on open source firmware, schematics and ASIO driver. It uses asynchronous USB Audio Class 1 / 2 up to 24/192. See pictures below.
It is part of the Audio Widget project.
In addition to being a pretty cool project, it is also a good sounding DAC. You don't need to modify anything on it, but you are more than welcome to. It comes fully assembled and tested, so it plays music right out-of-the-box.
