I was recently considering a DAC upgrade and the R28MK3 was recommended by a friend. Having heard great things about the Audio GD in the past, specifically the R28 and the R1NOS, it was vying for position with the Cyan 2 as my other option. The same friend (@Charlyro222 ) managed to compare these two briefly and was confident he preferred the R28Mk3 DAC for it's 'soulful' presentation vs the Cyan 2. Given this feedback and the fact that the value proposition for the R28MK3 seemed patently absurd - a good DAC and a decent amp in one - I decided to spring for the R28. Soon after ordering it was here on my doorstep...

I went into this purchase thinking a DAC upgrade may only bring incremental improvements to my listening experience but that's definitely not the case here. The R28MK3 has elevated my listening experience across all my amplifiers/transducers. It offers a dimensional, natural, textured sound that is quite a few steps ahead of the ROHM DAC I was using previously (SMSL D300). Soulful is the right word, instrument tones are rich, vocals are naturally extended and rarely harsh. It's quite possible that this DAC doesn't measure like the Cyan 2 but if it means losing some of that soul, my music would certainly be less for it. Maybe one day I'll be able to confirm by comparing them directly but until then, I'm incredibly satisfied and I'm looking forward to seeing how it grows with burn in.

Co ciekawe, autor nie wspomina nic o wygrzewaniu przez 300h. Może się okaże, że po tym czasie dźwięk się zepsuje

O, Topping wypuścił DX9 Discrete. Patrząc na moje potrzeby, to postrzegam go jako bardziej przystępnego D900.

@Q21 wiecie może kiedy się można go spodziewać w naszych sklepach? Coś czuję, że prędzej się pojawi niż D900

W Polsce pewnie tak, choć w HiFiGo DX9 jest wyceniony o 500 dolarów mniej niż D900.Cena , która się pokazuje to 1299dolarów lub 4716.09zł.

- Laiv Harmony µDAC + Aune N7 jako preamp. Kusi ten Laiv, bo same pozytywne recenzje zbiera. Chciałbym sprawdzić tutaj może też Ladder Bach jako preamp, ale nie ma go w PL.
- Topping D900, znów dac i preamp w jednym. Wygląda fajnie i podobno w końcu Topping, który nie tylko ma dobre pomiary, ale też brzmi.
